Situations requiring a mandatory SAAQ medical examination

For all class 1 to 4B driving licenses

For all drivers of heavy trucks, buses, emergency vehicles (ambulance, fire, police, etc.) and more.

To get your license back after it has been revoked

Following offences for drink-driving, drug-driving, dangerous driving, etc., or any professional requiring a driver's license for professional activities.

Periodic or annual renewal of the medical examination

To drive a vehicle requiring a class 1 to 4B license. (At ages 20, 25, 30, 35, 40 and 45, at ages 48, 51, 54, 55, 57, 60, 63 and 65, and every year thereafter).

All other situations requiring a SAAQ mandatory medical examination

Chronic illnesses such as diabetes, vision problems or illnesses requiring medication that may affect driving, etc.

If you have been granted a time limit, it is important to make an appointment as soon as possible in order to avoid suspension of your license or your right to obtain one, and to send your Health Report form to the SAAQ before the time limit expires.
