For individuals requiring a medical examination at the request of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC)

When should I take my immigration medical examination?

You must undergo the medical examination within 30 days of the date of receipt of the invitation from the IRCC with a designated physician. It is the date of the examination that counts toward this deadline, not the date of receipt of the results of the medical examination. Biron allows you to meet this 30-day deadline for an examination with one of our IRCC-appointed physicians.

Appointment time is approximately 180-240 minutes.

The IRCC may request additional tests not included in the initial examination.

Following your examination, you will be given a document certifying that you have passed an Immigration Canada medical examination (IMM1017-B).

Your examination results

Once the medical results have been sent to Citizenship Immigration Canada, the rest of the process is out of Biron's hands. The IRCC will contact you directly in writing; the doctor is not informed of the outcome of your IRCC application. Your test results will also be sent to you by e-mail.

Prices and payment

You will have access to the price list once you have selected the clinic above. Payment is linked to the services of the Designated Medical Practitioner (DMP) and the examination fee and cannot be refunded even if your immigration application is refused or the validity period of your immigration medical examination expires.

Note: If you are eligible for coverage under the Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP), the costs associated with your immigration medical examination **will be reimbursed by the IFHP.
