Tetanus

Tetanus is an illness characterized by severe muscle contractions caused by the bacteria’s toxin and which can even result in death. It enters the body through a wound (even a minor wound) that is contaminated with soil, saliva, dust or human or animal feces. The risk of infection is higher for injuries that are difficult to clean (e.g. bite wound, nail puncture).
