anti-HBc/EIA
HBsAg/EIA
HBsAg/EIA refers to a version of the tests used specifically by the Laboratoire de santé publique du Québec (LSPQ) to confirm all non-negative HBsAg (Hepatitis B surface antigen) results produced in Quebec by both hospital and private laboratories. Hepatitis B is a reportable disease.
Non-reactive HBsAg/EIA and anti-HBc/EIA: viral infection not detected.
Reactive HBsAg/EIA and anti-HBc/EIA: confirmed infection by the hepatitis B virus.
The other combinations of results are followed by automatic confirmation tests and specific indications for the process to be followed: confirmed positive or negative result, invitation to re-test on a new sample.
