Asymptomatic

An individual is said to be asymptomatic if he or she has a particular disease or infection without showing typical symptoms. An individual can be asymptomatic for the duration of an illness or only a certain period, but may still be contagious. The term “asymptomatic” is associated with a specific condition or disease. For example, during the COVID-19 pandemic, an individual can be symptomatic for a condition such as diabetes or cancer, but asymptomatic for COVID-19 if he or she has no symptoms such as fever, the onset or worsening of a cough, loss of smell or taste, and difficulty breathing.
