Is it normal to have a bruise on your arm after a blood test?
Yes, it can happen that a bruise forms at the site after a blood test. Generally, this is attributed to the patient not pressing hard enough and long enough on the precise spot where the blood was drawn.
Rest assured, a bruise is usually harmless and will disappear on its own. It can take up to 4 weeks. As the days go by, the color of the bruise will change from blue-purple to green to yellow until it disappears completely.
To accelerate the resorption of the bruise, it is customary to apply an ice pack (bag of frozen vegetables, ice pack, ice or cold compress) 15 minutes every hour for the first 24-48 hours. Do not apply the cold directly to the skin, put a towel over it.
You can also take acetaminophen (Tylenol). Pay special attention to allergies and contraindications.
If you have any other questions, do not hesitate to contact us at 1 800 463-7674.

Unfortunately not. You can visit the site of the Association of Allergists and Immunologists of Québec
If I have a consultation request for allergies, can I come to Biron?
